Kalam started her journey as a makeup artist back in 2003 when she met her role model Pat McGrath at the backstage of NYC fashion week. She believes that makeup holds a deeper meaning than just being physical because if you look good, you can also feel confident about yourself. She developed her own makeup brushes because there was not a wide range of synthetic hair brush sets available on the market and they tend to last much longer if you take good care of them!
